Living from your True Self in Turbulent Times

These days, it can feel like the world is spinning out of control. It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and feel like we’re losing ourselves in the process. We can feel tremendous disconnection, despair, confusion, illness and profound meaninglessness and purposelessness.

But I want to lovingly remind you that no matter how tough things may seem or be, you have the innate capability to live from the Power of your True Self.

What does that mean exactly? Living from your True Self means being in touch with who you really are, what you value, and what brings you joy. It means making choices based on your own inner guidance rather than fear, societal pressure, or others’ expectations. It means living in alignment with your highest self, even when the world around you is in upheaval.

That being said, and especially in times such as ours, it can be extremely challenging to find one’s footing. We may feel pulled in different directions simultaneously, unsure of our direction in life, or which path to choose.

But… there is a way to find peace, clarity and empowerment even amidst chaos – by learning to discern what arises from your conditioned Personality/Societal Self, and reconnecting at a deeper level of yourself. At the level of your True Self.

Your True Self is the core of your being, the eternal essence of who you truly are beyond your physical body, personality, conditioning and social roles. It is the part of you that is eternal, free, limitless, unchanging, and connected to a Higher Power (however you choose to experience or name that Higher Power).

When we are anchored in, and live from, our True Self, we experience certainty, inner peace, connection, inspiration, joy, and fulfillment that cannot be found through external achievements or validation, and that enable us to navigate the sometimes-extreme currents of our lives and circumstances.

Living from your True Self means living a life that is authentic and aligned with your values, beliefs, and purpose. It means letting go of addictions to outdated/toxic patterns, as well as the masks and personas we often wear to fit in or please others, along with the damaging ways in which we sometimes seek to fulfill our needs.

Additionally, when we live from our True Self, we magnetize to ourselves and manifest our Best Life.

So, how can we become our True Self in turbulent times? Here are some things to consider:

Cultivate Self-Awareness

To reconnect with your True Self, you first need to understand yourself at a deeper level. This means becoming aware of your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and values. You can do this through noticing the outcomes in your Life and what you’re currently manifesting, as well as via practices like mindfulness, journalling, or therapy. By seeing your results and knowing and understanding yourself better, you can begin to identify the patterns and behaviours that are not aligned with your True Self. You can begin to see who you no longer wish to be, and what you no longer wish to experience in your Life

Release Limiting Beliefs

Your beliefs electromagnetically shape your reality, as we know from the ancient wisdom and from leading-edge leaders and scientists. If you believe deep down that you are unworthy, less than, incapable, broke or powerless, you will unfailingly create experiences that reinforce those beliefs. To become your True Self, you need to replace the limiting
beliefs that are holding you back with beliefs that reflect an empowered you. This can be done through consistently changing your energy patterns, deep meditative practices, affirmations, visualization, energy healing and many other modalities.

Connect with your Intuition

Your intuition is the voice of your True Self. It is the guidance that is unique to you and that comes from your inner wisdom and intuition. To connect with your intuition, you need to make space for it in your Life and practice listening for it. This can be done through meditation, quiet reflection, or simply asking yourself what feels the most true and right for you, above and beyond all the reactionary-based habits of thought and emotion.

Live from your Values

Your True Self is aligned with your deepest, truest values. To live from your True Self, you need to identify your core values and see the results you’ve been getting that you don’t like, then align your actions with new core values. This may mean making changes in your Life to honour your new values, even if it means going against societal norms or
expectations.

Practice Self-Care: Taking care of yourself is crucial for reconnecting with your True Self. When you’re stressed,
anxious, or overwhelmed, it’s hard to hear your inner guidance. And so, this means making time for rest, relaxation, and activities that bring you joy. It also means nourishing your body with healthy food and exercise, as well as taking care of your mental and emotional well-being.

Connect with a Higher Power

Your True Self is connected to a Higher Power, whether you call it God/Goddess, the Universe, the Quantum Field, or something / someone else. To deepen your connection with your True Self, you can practice connecting with this Higher Power through prayer, nature, meditation, breathwork, sacred plant medicine, contemplation, dance, or other practices.

Becoming your True Self is a lifelong journey because we are ever-evolving, growing. The journey requires honesty, courage, patience, and commitment to your growth. It requires deep love and compassion for yourself. Usually, it’s the hardest journey(s) we will ever undertake.

But…. what’s the cost to you mentally, physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually of not becoming and living from your True Self?

The rewards are immeasurable – freedom, clarity, realization, creativity, connection, inner peace, abundance, joy, and purpose…. and they can creatively carry us through even the most turbulent times. Especially in such times as ours when chaos-between-paradigms abounds and we are literally being forced to evolve (and now, at hyper-speed).

By embracing and learning to follow steps such as these, make them a part of your Life and remaining open to the wisdom of your True Self, you can navigate the challenges of life with greater purpose, resilience, imagination, magic, joy, ease, resourcefulness and grace. You can give your greatest Gifts.
